This Polish-Swedish collaboration started in 2020 when the composer Marsel Nichan was granted the Swedish Arts Grants Committee's residency program with the ensemble Kwartludium. Due to the pandemic situation, the trip to Poland had to be postponed. In the meanwhile, the contact between Kwartludium and Marsel continued, and then Marsel wrote the first piece to Kwartludium (The Order in The Chaos & The Chaos in The Order) and this led to a joint project that resulted in a tour to Sweden during November 2021.

After the first successful project Kwartludium decided to commission another piece by Marsel and got financial support by the Polish minister of culture. The second piece (Fractals) was written during 2022 and was premiered 29th of October same year during The NeoArte Festival in Gdansk.

Both Kwartludium and Marsel expressed a big interest into recording these two pieces and during 2022 Kwartludium asked for more pieces from Marsel´s repertoire and they got a couple of pieces that both Marsel and the ensemble chose from to finally create this record.
